Cayman Islands HoneymoonLocation: Northwest of Jamaica and about 150 miles south of Cuba. All three of the Cayman Islands cover about 100 square miles and they are part of an underwater mountain chain between Cuba and Belize. Climate: Cayman's climate varies little throughout the year. In the winter months of December and January temperatures average 75 degrees and in the summer they average 85. The rainy season is May thru October and the hurricane season runs June 1st to November 30th. Currency: Caymanian Dollar but U.S. currency is accepted at most places. Language: The official language of Cayman is English with varying accents. Attractions: When visiting the Cayman Islands the first thing you'll notice is the devastation caused by hurricane Ivan. Trees have been toppled and foliage stripped to the trunks. Roofs still missing and some resorts still with boarded windows. Shops and stores rebuilding and refurbishing their interiors. With all that said, Grand Cayman and its sister islands Cayman Brac and Little Cayman have maintained their beautiful pristine beaches and of course the diving has remained as incomparable as ever. A trip to Cayman has something for everyone, from eco-tourism and diving to gourmet dining and shopping. Grand Cayman Only about 22 miles long and only a mile wide at its narrowest the island provides many popular attractions within minutes. A popular place to stay is at one of the many hotels and resorts on Seven Mile Beach where great snorkeling is available right off the beach and dive boats will pick you up right at your hotel's beachfront. Other places to visit include the Cayman Islands National Museum, Cayman Turtle Farm, Rum Point and the Queen Elizabeth Botanic Park. Getting around the island is fairly easy as Grand Cayman has daily bus services that run throughout the island. Cayman Brac What a perfect destination for a special honeymoon in the Caymans! Brac is the second largest of the three Cayman Islands. It is only 12 miles long and 2 miles wide and is 90 miles east of Grand Cayman. Honeymooners can take Cayman Air or Island Air to get there. Cayman Brac's crystal waters are superbe for diving on your honeymoon vacation. Numerous dive spots are available for every level. Shallow reef dives and deep wall dives provide spectacular views of the marine life. Tremendous fishing is also available for couples on a Cayman honeymoon vacation. Shopping is popular on Cayman Brac, but be aware that prices are not cheap as everything is imported. There are several eateries and restaurants on the island that create a romantic setting for a Cayman Island honeymoon couple. Popular attractions include the lighthouse on the east end of the island, the local museum, caves and blowholes at the southern end of Cayman Brac. If you are looking for a small, special honeymoon at least make Cayman Brac part of your Cayman Islands honeymoon. Little Cayman Eleven flat miles of western Caribbean paradise is sure to provide a relaxing honeymoon vacation! Little Cayman is the smallest of the the three caman islands and has only a handfull of resorts, hotels and cottages to choose from, however that is also what makes it special. Honeymoon couples can boat to nearby Owen Island where you'll pass away the time in a truly romantic secluded setting. Divers can drop in at the famous Bloody Bay Wall while land lovers can bike around the island and take in the sights. Whatever you choose, a Little Cayman honeymoon will give you the quiet seclusion any couple deserves. |
